Through deconstruction and repetition ,circular units are transformed into dynamic communicative symbols, a present day totemic urban sculpture which becomes a vehicle of identity at a theoretic level
Through a use of unconventional materials associated issues of sustainability and ethical practices are addressed. The work provides a platform to challenge issues surrounding preciousness, viability and identity of an iconic unit. One is led to view the spatial pauses between the individual folded sections an experience the interval within which everything occurs. The concept is experienced through intervals of random spatial designation There is a complex order in the simple network.
The labour intensive method of construction becomes an ontological process creating somatic metaphors. I deconstruct the constructs of an inherited unit I dismantle form and decentralize patterns of thoughts. Their altered identity becomes a non-identity. They retain in their monochromatic simplicity a relevant validity.
